Banavie Road

The existing Grade “B” listed three storey terrace house is built on a steep slope, so that while the front of the house the basement is below ground, at the rear it is a full storey above the back garden.

The design proposal was to lower the rear portion of the lower floor to allow better access to the garden, and to open up the entire floor into a spacious and light filled kitchen/diningroom at the rear, and a “snug” overlooking this at the front.

The existing living room on the first floor is converted into a master bedroom with ensuite, while the existing fine plasterwork and joinery details are retained in the rest of the house.
